Selina Donald

Director and Founder

Selina’s epiphany moment came while working on the London 2012 Opening and Closing Ceremonies, which served as memorable bookends for the most sustainable Olympic and Paralympic Games to-date.  It became clear to her then that weaving sustainability considerations into all event aspects was the only way forward.  Selina’s path to setting up The Bulb has been varied and impressive.  As well as London 2012, she’s played a part in several high profile projects including England 2018 World Cup Bid, the Rio Olympics 2016 and as part of the senior management team for the ITV events team.

Certified by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership, Selina has combined her skills in leading high profile projects with her expertise in sustainability to provide a unique offering to clients: creative productions with an environmental and social conscience.  Recognising the antiquated and wasteful approach to event production, Selina founded The Bulb in 2015, to champion sustainability and legacy in the events industry.  The Bulb is recognised as the UK’s first B Corporation event agency, a global certification awarded to businesses that aspire to be good for people, profit and the Planet.

Since 2015, Selina has spearheaded numerous events and campaigns which have environmental and social causes at the heart including sponsorship events for the UN’s climate change negotiations (COP), The Global Girl Summit in celebration of International Day of the Girl, Women for Women International, Vivenne Westwood’s Climate Revolution and #March4Women 2018 and 2020, a demonstration and rally in aid of gender equality for a collective audience of over 20,000 people.

Selina often speaks at events on issues of female entrepreneurship, gender equality and sustainability.
